Melissa Lester Olson, LCSW & EFT International Tapping Trainer (NQT) has used EFT Tapping in her therapy and counseling practice and in her personal life since 2013. Melissa works almost exclusively with women in her practice, specializing in issues ranging from Anxiety and Depression to Eating Disorders, LGBTQ Issues, Coming Out Later in Life, Trauma Resolution, Family of Origin Issues and more. She offers a combination of psychodynamic, or insight-oriented therapy and several body-focused therapies that create real and lasting change. EFT, or “Tapping,” transformed Melissa’s practice and her client’s lives to such a degree that she is now committed to offering live, high-quality and low cost EFT Tapping to the widest and most diverse audience possible. She Founded TAPPING WORKS 501c3 with the intention of removing financial and other barriers to those seeking relief and betterment of all kinds. When you pay the recommended tuition or more, you enable us to offer those who cannot afford full tuition to Pay What They Can. This Non-Profit PWYC option is intended for those who experience true and chronic financial hardship and who would not otherwise be able to access high-quality, professional training in EFT Tapping. Please note that in the spirit of our mission, Pay What You Can is not Pay What You Want – or intended for those who wish to pay less in the absence of true financial hardship.

PROGRAM LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completion of this program, the student will be able to:
- Explain and demonstrate use of the foundational EFT/Tapping skills including identifying the 12 main Meridian Points used in EFT and applying the basic Tapping algorithm/procedure to distressing thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.
- Discuss and demonstrate building rapport and safety with clients as part of using EFT in the context of a healing relationship.
- Explain and discuss the importance and benefits of using the client’s own words and subjective experience while using EFT Tapping.
- Identify online EFT Research resources for their own education as well as for sharing with clients.
- List and discuss with a client (role play) various Aspects (as defined in EFT) of an identified problem or issue.
- Create and implement quality questions during an EFT session in class.
- Discuss (in role play/practice) basics of the body’s trauma experience, and its biological, emotional and physical components.
- Demonstrate (in role play/practice) use of EFT’s Gentle Techniques to relieve overwhelm and emotional flooding.
- Apply several methods of Measurement throughout their use of EFT Tapping with client (in role play/practice).
- Use Calibration while observing the client (in role play/practice) during an EFT session.
- Identify Cognitive and/or Perspective Shifts in the client (in role play/practice).
- Use the Tell the Story technique and The Movie Technique (in role play/practice).
- Describe Abreactions, and how to use Tapping preventatively.
- Demonstrate uncovering Limiting Beliefs from early learning experiences and families of origin and how to use this information effectively during an EFT Tapping session (in role play/practice).
- Demonstrate uncovering specific Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) during an EFT Tapping session (in role play/practice).
- Identify the concepts of Reversals and Resistance as well as how to address these as additional Aspects with EFT Tapping.
- Use Tail Enders effectively in an EFT session with a client.
- Demonstrate the basic elements of a well-structured EFT session.
- Identify and discuss the differences in using EFT with adults vs. children, individually vs in groups, as well as Surrogate Tapping.
- Identify and discuss my professional Scope of Practice, Ethical considerations and how I will provide Informed Consent as well as maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and referral sources.
